LA PROVINCIA DI VIBO VALENTIA
La provincia di Vibo Valentia è nata di recente dalla
ripartizione del territorio della provincia di Catanzaro e si estende in
un'area pari al 7,6% del territorio calabrese.Ha 50 comuni e una popolazione
residente di quasi 180 mila abitanti.Il territorio racchiude in se un
patrimonio straordinario, fatto di bellezze naturali, di storia millenaria, di
cultura, di tradizioni, di elementi frutto di un magnifico intreccio composto
di bellezze artistiche e architettoniche tipiche.Questo territorio proprio per
la sua collocazione tra il Tirreno e i Monti delle Serre, conserva ancora il
fascino della diversità e della purezza ambientale, offrendo al visitatore una
varietà di paesaggi ancora intatti .

Lamezia Terme
Intercontinental Airport is just 50 Km from over 60% of the Province's
towns. Equipped with a vast 24-hour air-station for transport of goods,
Lamezia Terme can handle large quantities of merchandise. Work is now
underway to activate a Frpntier Inspection Post at Lamezia Airport for direct
customs clearance of aanimal products destined for human or non human
consumption and subject to sanitary inspections.

Gioia Tauro is
a container terminal and a major port, less than 50 Km from the manufactoring
develpment zones. It boats a 1,000,000 sq. m water basin, 15 m deep
sea-beds and around 3 Km of quays and docks. The Gioia Tauro specialises in
shipping containers (roll-on, roll-off) and subsequent re-routing from the
port to final destinations, either by sea or land. |

The A3 motorway,
with 5 exits in the territory is at most just 20 Km from over 70% of the
Province's towns. |

Vibo Marina
has a spacious 250,00 sq m dock, and quays built in sea - water 8 m
deep. It is ana important port for trade, industry, petroleum, fishing and
tourism (ferry connections to the Aeolian Islands) an plesure craft centre. |

The main railway
line runs north to south alongside the Tyrrhenian Ridge and through
the Naples to Reggio Calabria corridor, thus crossing the whole province. The
second railway line, also electrified, links all towns in the province. |

Tropea is a
tourist port with ferries to the Aeolian Islands. It is also equipped as a
harbour for yachting and pleasure craft with mooring for 200 boats and quays
3.5 m deep
